4th Vocabulary Entry

1. Take
a) Take away: to cause a feeling.
b) Take off: to leave the ground and start flying.

2. Break
a) Break up: to end or finish.
b) Break out: to escape from a prison.

3. Make
a) Make out: understand.
b) make up: to form,

4. Laugh
a) Laugh of something: to show, by laughing that you think something is funny.
b) Laugh off: it to laugh about something that has upset you, or made you angry, in order to make it seem less important or serious.

5. Breath
a) Breath out: exhale
b) Breath in: to fill your lungs with air by drawing it in through your nose or mouth.

6. Blow
a) Blow up: to explode or to be destroyed in an explosion.
b) Blow over: to disappear with out having a serious effect.

7. Dig
a) Dig deep: to try harder, give more, go further than is usually necessary.
b) Dig up: to remove.

8. Switch
a) Switch over: to change to a different television program.
b) Switch off: to press a switch in order to start.

9. Put
a) Put by: to save money to use later.
b) Put down: to say things to make seem stupid or foolish.

10) Work
a) Work out: to come to a particular result or told after everything has been calculated.
b) Work up: to develop or progress.
